Deputy Administrator for the NC ABC Commission. Responsible for the strategic operation of multiple divisions. Principal liaison to NC Alcohol Enforcement Branch (ALE), Sheriffs, Police Chiefs, Mayors, City Managers, City Attorneys, and other local governmental officials regarding ABC violations and controversial ABC permitting issues.
A former Wake County Magistrate. Held various directorship positions with ITT-Technical Institute, Global Linguist Solution (a subsidiary of DynCorp International) and the U.S. Department of Labor, which included providing direct leadership support to the Assistant Secretary of Labor – VETS on transitioning military and Veteran matters.
Graduated from Parris Island SC – Marine Corps Boot Camp in 1982 and retired as a Master Sergeant in 2005. As a US Marine earned two meritorious promotions: Private First Class and to Gunnery Sergeant. Held key leadership positions as senior enlisted advisor to Marine Commanders and deployed world-wide, culminating almost 23 years of proven leadership and tested management skills while serving our Nation as a U.S. Marine.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, “Cum Laude” from Averett University, and two Master’s degree – Master of Arts in Communication from the University of Oklahoma and Master in Human Services: Criminal Justice from Liberty University.
Politics and Volunteer Work:
In 2007, candidate for Raleigh City District-B, mentor military combat wounded Veterans and at-risk teenagers. Board of Directors – Healing Transitions: rewarding opportunity to help men and women who are homeless and affected by substance abuse use, become productive citizens within our community. Member, Body of Christ Church (BOCC) servant leadership team.
