Your Goods Support Our Participants
Healing Transitions is always in need of “slightly used” items. Many of these items are used when our participants transition back into society and become productive citizens. Participants enrolled in our recovery program are also in need of toiletries and clothing. Other items are sold at Recovered Treasures which is Healing Transitions’ thrift store.
Here are some frequently asked questions:
What can Healing Transitions use?
We accept donations of books, toys, men’s, women’s or children’s clothing, linens, major appliances, tools, furniture and electronics.
Gently used items are of benefit. Items which no longer function, or are worn out are of no use to Healing Transitions or its participants. We do pick up large appliances that are no longer working.
When and where can I drop off items?
Items may be dropped off at any of the following places: at the Men’s Facility (1251 Goode Street, Raleigh near the Farmer’s Market); the Women’s Facility (3304 Glen Royal Road, Raleigh near Umstead Park on Highway 70) 24 hours per day, 7 days per week; or during business hours at the thrift store located at 4011 Capital Blvd. Suite 109, Raleigh, NC.
Does Healing Transitions pick up items?
Yes, we pick up items on weekdays.
We would like to, but we are unable to pick up items on the weekends.
We are unable to accept pianos, mattresses, large tube televisions or pool tables.
Healing Transitions also accepts automobile donations. Any automobile that can be driven to our location can provide transportation to a man or woman transitioning back into society.
I have more questions, who do I contact?
Feel free to contact Terri Edwards, Enterprise Coordinator, (919) 838-9800 extension 120 for questions or to arrange a pick-up.
