Decorba White

Director of Emergency Shelter Services

Ms. Decorba White is a formerly homeless person who is in long-term recovery from a substance use disorder. After completing Healing Transitions recovery program in 2014 (SC #138). Decorba’s perception of the helping profession would forever be changed, but she never knew she would end up becoming one. Four years later, in 2019, Decorba made a decision to dedicate her life to helping to improve the life of others. Her journey in the helping profession began as a Recovery Engagement Specialist at Healing Transitions in Raleigh, NC.

 

Since September of 2021, Decorba has held the position of Director of Emergency Shelter Services at Healing Transitions where she is responsible for directing and developing the shelter program to maximize its ability to be of service to individuals who are suffering from mental health issues, substance use, and homelessness. She is enrolled at Wake Technical College where she is pursuing an Associates in Arts with a goal of transferring to a four-year university to obtain a bachelor’s followed by a master’s degree in Social Work. She is currently registered with the NCASPPB and actively working toward credentialing as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor.
