Overnight Emergency Shelter
Healing Transitions believes that everyone is entitled to food, shelter and clothing, regardless of their readiness or ability to change other areas of one’s life. The Overnight Emergency Shelters at the Men’s and Women’s Campuses offer wet shelter seven days a week on a first-come, first-served basis to anyone who is homeless. This means that people are allowed to access food, shelter and clothing even if they are intoxicated or under the influence of other drugs.
Overnight guests who have a substance use disorder who are interested in getting into the Recovery Program should speak with staff.
Our capacity for Overnight Emergency Shelter at the Men’s Campus is 36 beds with 20 additional cold weather emergency mats. Our capacity at the Women’s Campus is 13 beds with 7 mats.
Overnight Emergency Shelter availability is impacted by the number of people engaged in our recovery program. When demand for our recovery program exceeds our program beds, participants sleep in an Overnight Emergency Shelter bed.
