His leadership and design insight have contributed to many of the city’s most transformative projects — from early urban infill and multifamily developments to high-rise towers like FNB Tower and Charter Square. Today, JDAVIS remains deeply invested in the continued evolution of Downtown Raleigh, maintaining a strong presence in its urban core and an unwavering commitment to its future.

Neil’s impact extends well beyond architecture. He served on the Board of the Downtown Raleigh Alliance for five years, including one term as Board Chair, where he championed efforts to cultivate a more vibrant, inclusive, and economically resilient downtown. He also volunteers with Oak City Cares, a nonprofit that serves the city’s unhoused population through coordinated care and compassionate outreach — reflecting his belief that strong communities are built through empathy and shared responsibility.
