Tracy Freeman-Hines

Women’s Director of Recovery Services

Mrs. Tracy Freeman-Hines is an alumnus of Healing Transitions and has been a valued employee at the Women’s Campus of Healing Transitions since 2014. She initially served as the Planning Room Supervisor but transitioned to the Women’s Director of Recovery Services in September of 2021. In this role, Tracy provides supervision of the operation of the day-to-day recovery program. Her passion for her work stems from her own lived experience with homelessness and substance use. Tracy has been a person in long-term recovery for over eleven years. Daily, her work reflects her motivation to see women who suffer from substance use disorder achieve a life full of hope and promise.

Early in her work at Healing Transitions, Tracy realized that having a passion to see others recover was not sufficient to effectively serve. In returning to school, it took Tracy four years to complete an Associates in Human Services Technologies all the while working a demanding full-time job. While attending classes at Wake Tech, Tracy became certified as a Recovery Coach and a Peer Support Specialist. She is also currently a Certified Alcohol and Drug counselor pursuing a Bachelor’s in Social Work to effectively motivate and engage the participants she serves.
