Women Shelter Services Coordinator

SUMMARY
This position is responsible for coordination, oversight and provision of supportive services as needed, for Healing Transitions’ women’s emergency shelter. The Women’s Shelter Services Coordinator will supervise case management staff, and may carry a small caseload when necessary. This position is primarily on site 2nd shift to serve in a leadership capacity, provide support for staff on duty, and assist with crisis management. This position is also responsible for data coordination, reporting and evaluation.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS AND PREFERENCES
Required:
- Valid driver license and reliable transportation required
- At least one year of experience working with the homeless population is required
Preferred:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or similar field is preferred.
- Experience in mental health/crisis intervention is preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Supervision of all shelter services staff – case manager(s), and Recovery Engagement Specialists as needed. Ensure staff have the training, support, skills, and resources necessary to provide quality care.
- Assist with orientation and training of all shelter staff – especially around trauma-informed care, mental health, motivational interviewing, and assertive engagement
- Ensure compliance with all local, state and federal homeless services regulations and best practices, especially as they relate to funding
- Oversee data collection and documentation processes to ensure reporting requirements are met, and utilize data to inform best practices and evaluation
- Create and maintain a healthy environment that is trauma-informed and conducive to engagement
- Work to identify and reduce barriers to services, increase engagement and retention, and improve guest outcomes
- Establish, foster and maintain relationships with community partners

- Leadership – This position will require strong leadership skills to motivate and engage employees. Individual will need to be able to role-model effective participant engagement skills as well as strong supervisory and management skills. Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision and ability to develop and maintain relationships with community partners and outside agencies.
- Ethical conduct/practice – Be familiar with relevant Codes of Ethics and demonstrate a thorough understanding of boundaries and self-care. Understanding of and sensitivity to the needs of individuals experiencing homelessness.
- Organized – Individual must be able to multitask and manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment. Needs to have excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail. Must demonstrate ability to develop and maintain priorities and meet established deadlines.
- Guest engagement – Individual must bring a passion for case management/homelessness and demonstrate willingness to take initiative. Must be non-judgmental, empathetic, genuine, and trustworthy. Ability to work with people of diverse socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
- Communication – Individual must possess strong written and oral communication skills as well as facilitation and mediation skills. Ability to build rapport and collaborate effectively with guests, colleagues, and community partners.
- Flexibility – Individual must be able to adapt to a changing environment, schedules, culture, and processes. Must possess creativity to advance our organization and humility to continually grow and learn from others. High level of flexibility and ability to prioritize appropriately in addition to critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Computer skills – Excel, Outlook, data entry and Microsoft
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position is responsible for supervision of staff providing services for shelter guests. This may include some shared supervision and coordination with other supervisory staff for Recovery Engagement Specialists.

TRAVEL
This position requires travel to community engagements and or meetings.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
