Mark Ezzell

Board of Directors

Mark Ezzell serves as Director of the NC Governor’s Highway Safety Program, which works to reduce traffic deaths and injuries through the planning and execution of innovative traffic safety initiatives.

Mark has a twenty-year history directing statewide public safety and health campaigns. Previously, Mark served as Executive Director of the Addiction Professionals of North Carolina (APNC), which serves the state’s substance use disorder treatment and prevention professionals. He has also directed tobacco-free schools & college efforts for the NC Health & Wellness Trust Fund, a statewide public health foundation. Mark has also worked with the NC Governor’s Crime Commission, the Burroughs Welcome Fund and as chair of the NC Council on Developmental Disabilities.  Mark also has served as chair of the Wake County Board of Elections and has served on numerous local and state nonprofit boards.

He received his undergraduate degree from Campbell University, where he was awarded a Distinguished Alumni Award in 2011, and has done additional graduate work at NC State and UNC-Chapel Hill. He is also a graduate of the Education Policy Fellowship Program (EPFP) and the Institute for Political Leadership (IOPL).
